Sony Ericsson W550i cell phone is a swivel phone similar to the Sony Ericsson’s S700i. It comes with a distinctive orange case and unlike the W800i model, the orange front and back covers can be removed and swapped easily. You can opt for a silver or a blue option which will give an entire different feel of the phone from the normal orange finish which is now a synonymous with the series of Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson.

The W550i looks and feels a lot like Sony Ericsson’s S700i and is a little bulkier than its earlier range of candy-bar phone. With a covered keypad, which is revealed by rotating the fascia 180 degrees, the phone has a satisfying clunk and the base of the phone is designed to curve subtly upwards at the top so that the screen is tilted slightly towards the user. When the phone is in use, you will see that the keypad glows with bright orange light, which will definitely be a hit with younger users.

The Sony Ericsson W550I comes with a set of stereo headphones; Disc2Phone software which lets you transfer your CDs to your phone via your PC; a USB cable; and 256MB of internal memory which allow an estimated storage of about 80 tracks. The W550i has no expandable memory, which means that there is a limitation for the music storage and that is something that may deter music lovers from getting this cell phone.

The W550i features stereo speakers on the side ands the back of the phone, as well as a Mega Bass option, which can play loud sound and fantastic for sharing music with others. But, if you prefer to enjoy the music yourself, the stereo headphones is the alternative.

The Sony Ericsson W550i has a built-in camera which is not as powerful as the W800i and W900i. Although the resolution is lower, it still allow user to take good photo snap. When in camera mode, there is a useful settings bar which allow user to click through the bar to control the whole range of camera functions, including shoot mode, picture size, quality and shutter sound setting, video and etc. Overall, the camera is quite easy to use.

The phone has a bright 262,000-color display which is very good for playing games. It will enhances your playing experience. The built-in games on the W550i include Extreme Air Snowboarding, Gauntlet and Worms Forts 3.

With the vast functionality and features, the only potential issue with the W550i is the lack of expandable memory, which is something that most latest cell phones comes with. Overall, the Sony Ericsson W550i is quite a nice phone that comes with full of features and it is easy to use.
