Sony Ericsson HBH-PV705 Bluetooth Headset

The Sony Ericson HBH-PV705 bluetooth headset is quite resemblance to the previous model HBH-PV700, but, comes with longer battery life for both talk and standby time. It boasts a whopping 12 hours talk time and 300 hours standby time, which is about twice the average time of a wireless headset. It weighs 14g (0.5oz) and measured 60mm x 16mm (2.36″ x 0.62″).

The design of this Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset makes it look like an in-ear canal headset with the speaker sitting roughly about 15mm behind the opening of your ear. It is very comfortable when putting it on and the ear loop is very secure. The HBH-PV705 can be worn on either ear by simply choosing which side to put the swivel point ear loop on. The button orientation stays the same regardless of which ear the unit is being worn on.

The Sony Ericsson HBH-PV705 comes with two main buttons – a multifunction button (MFB) and a rocker button for adjusting the volume level. The MFB button is located towards the back of the scratch plate, and is raised against the rest of the unit. The volume rocker is located on the flank and when it was pressed, it does not cause any discomfort to your ears. The volume rocker button is fairly sensitive, pressing it will causes occasional creaking and movement from the joints of the headset. There is one LED, located adjacent to the MFB, which will glow both red and yellow light.

Physically, the sandy colored scratch plate of this Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset is not appealing, though the one with silver color looks more impressive.

What’s most impressive about this Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset model is it’s long hours of talk time and standby time. The charger that accompanies the HBH-PV705 is also convenient for those with a Sony Ericsson phone, as it uses the same port as a W800/K750/W810 charger.
